Cape Verdean singer Elida Almeida returns with a fifth album “Di Lonji”, s a vibrant ode to her roots.
Elida Almeida, one of the greatest voices of the current Cape Verdean music landscape, considered by many as the leader of the new musical generation of the country, is finalizing her new work in the studio. The choice of the name “Di Lonji” is not innocent, it reflects her essence and her journey. It portrays Elida, where she comes from geographically, but also all the distances in Cape Verde, from the land of origin, to the path of realization of dreams, the achievement of goals, overcoming all barriers. The album represents all this intense and persistent journey, with all the factors that made it difficult and that were overcome, overcoming all the stereotypes, the search for approval that brought her here.
